Magistrate Court

Magistrate Court is normally held every other Wednesday at 4:30PM. The Magistrate Court is ruled over by Magistrate Elisa Branham. Magistrate Court typically sees traffic violations and non-violent misdemeanor violations within the Village of South Bloomfield.
 
If you have court scheduled and are unable to make the court date given, please contact Tara at 740-983-2541 and request a continuance.
 
Magistrate Court offers various options to address any traffic or criminal violation for which you are being seen for.
 
Guilty - Admitting guilt of the stated violation or offense and in most cases a fine is applied to include court costs.
 
Not Guilty - Admitting no guilt for the stated violation or offense, in which a trial will be set for a future court date in which the defendant will have an opportunity for his or her attorney or as self representation to question witnessess and/or officer(s) involved.
 
No Contest
 
Case Transfer - The defendant can request the case be transferred to Circleville Municipal Court to be heard at a later date.

If you fail to show for your assigned court date and fail to make arrangements with the Clerk of Courts, a warrant may be issued for your arrest and a license suspension will be imposed.
